Here’s the basics:

LRV: Light Reflectance Value, measures the total quantity of light reflected or absorbed by a surface, or the percent of light the paint color reflects. White will have a high LRV of 100 and black will have a low LRV of 0.

Finish options: Paint is available in many finishes, we recommend matte for most wall applications, flat for ceilings, semi gloss for moldings, door trims, and walls where moisture will be a daily recurrence like bathrooms, mudrooms, and kitchen spaces.

Color Intensity: color is important, but the smaller the room, the smaller the dose. Color can play a big part in the way a room feels, you don’t want it to overpower a space.

HOW TO CHOOSE A COLOR!

Mornings and evenings have an orange color bias, while midday light under a clear sky has a blue bias. As the quality and angle of light changes, your color selection and what your eye perceives will change. The natural light leading into the morning, and evening change the fastest and therefore is the least effective time of day to pick a color.

Our professional tip:

Paint several large swatches in multiple areas of the space, over the period of several days you can come back to the swatches and evaluate if the color is something you still like. Also keep in mind surrounding finishes, furnishings, and accessories, and how the color affects them.
